Call For Papers                                          

Papers are being invited for the 2019 International Conference on Biomedical Textile Materials to be held at Donghua University in Songjiang University Town, Shanghai, China.                                              

The guiding theme of the conference will be:                                              

Biomedical Textile & Healthcare Products – Challenge and Opportunity from Laboratory Bench to Commercial Production                                                      

Areas to be highlighted include:                                              

A. Novel materials and biopolymers for biomedical applications                                              

B. Surface modification and biocompatibility                                              

C. Medical textiles for protection, comfort and healthcare                                              

D. Tissue engineering scaffolds                                              

E. Design, structure and performance of biotextile implants                                              

F. Quality assurance and regulatory affairs                                              

G. Biotextiles and drug delivery                                              

H. Development of in vitro and in vivo test methods                                              

I. Performance evaluation using computer models                                              

J. Infection control with novel antimicrobial agents                                              

Papers on other topics in related subject areas are also welcome.                                              

Submission of Abstracts and Full Papers                                              

A one-page abstract with a title, the name and affiliation of each author and keywords should be submitted no later than April 5, 2019. Submissions received after this date will not be given primary consideration for inclusion in the program. Once your abstract has been accepted, please submit the full paper before the deadline of April 15, 2019. All accepted papers will be published in the Journal of Donghua University (English Edition). Please prepare your abstract and full paper according to the attached format and preferred template. Please submit your abstract and full paper by sending them as e-mail attachments in MS Word “doc” format to the conference organizing committee at:ifbmtm@dhu.edu.cn                                                          

 Art Science Photos Competition                                              

An art science photo is also welcomed to be submitted to our science photo art contest which will be displayed during the conference. Any related image is eligible for the competition. Every participant can submit no more than 3 images. Send your low-res digital images named YOUR NAME.jpeg together with your one page short CV and a file containing a short description of each of the submitted images by e-mail to ifbmtm@dhu.edu.cn before April 12, 2019.Please see the attachment for more details.                                              

Innovation and Application Competition on Biomedical Textile Products                                              

An innovative biomedical textile products is also welcomed to be submitted to our innovation competition which will be displayed during the conference. Any related complete idea or real product is eligible for the competition. Send the related file with the details of the product including the idea and the image by e-mail to ifbmtm@dhu.edu.cn before April 12, 2019.                                               

Program                                              

The program will include five parts. First, a number of international keynote guest lecturers will present their invited oral papers. Second, a number of young researchers will be invited to give oral presentations of their research work. Third, an important part of the program will involve poster sessions, when authors will have the opportunity to discuss their work with attendees as well as with a panel of judges. Fourth, international companies will be invited to present topics related to business, marketing, production and regulatory affairs, as well as meet with graduate students to discuss recruitment issues and career advancement. Fifth, a science photo art contest will be held to display the artistic beauty of biomedical textiles being used in a variety of anatomical locations and biological environments. Sixth, as a new feature of conferences, an Innovation and Application competition will be held to give the student opportunity to create new ideas for the biomedical textile product.                                              

Schedule of Events:                                              

By April 15, 2019, the first author and/or the corresponding author of each submitted abstract will be advised whether or not their abstract has been accepted for either a poster or an oral presentation.                                              

 Awards:                                              

The Academic Committee will invite a number of young researchers who are the authors of certain selected abstracts to give oral presentations at the conference. These presentations will be recognized for special awards. At the close of the conference the Academic Committee will also give out a series of awards for the most outstanding poster presentations, outstanding science photo and outstanding innovative products.                                              

 Language:                                              

The official language of the conference is English.
